Greek Formals in Windsor: Booking a Private Club for Your Chapter
Formals and chapter socials have a way of turning into logistics headaches: finding a venue that fits the group, keeps things private and still feels like an event. A private takeover of Alley Katz solves most of that in one booking.
Why a private takeover works for a chapter
- It’s yours. On Wednesday and Thursday nights we close to the public for one group only, so no strangers and no competing parties.
- It’s the right size. Takeovers are for 20+ guests, and the lounge seats 65 in top-grain leather couches and seats.
- It’s staffed. 8+ dancers, a DJ, a bartender and a server, all for your group, for 4 hours.
- It’s your night. Set the theme, the music and the guest list. We run the door to your list.
- It’s downtown. 25 Chatham St E, walkable from the rest of downtown Windsor and a short walk from the Detroit–Windsor Tunnel.
Crossing from Michigan?
Ontario’s legal drinking age is 19, so chapters from Michigan schools often plan their Windsor night around members who aren’t yet 21. A few things to plan for:
- Every guest needs a passport, passport card, NEXUS card or enhanced driver’s licence to cross the border and return.
- Everyone must be 19+ with valid government photo ID at our door. No exceptions.
- Arrange group transport (a party bus or designated drivers) so nobody is driving after the event.
Planning checklist
- Check your chapter’s event and risk-management policies before you book.
- Pick a Wednesday or Thursday at least 2 weeks out. Formal season fills up.
- Send a booking request with your date, headcount and theme. Choose “Greek formal / group social” as the occasion.
- Get your custom quote, then secure the date with a $1,000 deposit that comes off your final bill. It’s fully refundable if you cancel at least 7 days out; after that, a $500 fee applies.
- Add food assortments for a premium, or have the group order in.
