Information we collect

When you contact us, we collect your name, email address, optional phone number, selected subject, message, and consent record. When you apply to dance at Alley Katz, we collect your preferred name, email address, optional Instagram and Snapchat IDs, photographs, message, confirmation that you are at least 19, and consent record. When you place an online order, we collect the contact, billing, shipping, product, and order information needed to process, fulfill, support, and account for that purchase.

Our website and hosting provider may also process basic technical information, such as IP address, browser type, request time, security logs, and device information, to deliver and protect the website. We use a necessary age-confirmation cookie that remembers a 19+ confirmation for 30 days.

How we use information

We use contact information to respond to inquiries and manage follow-up. We use dancer application information and photographs only to assess the application, contact the applicant, protect against misuse, and administer our recruitment process. We do not use application photographs for advertising without separate permission. We use order information to take payment, calculate shipping and applicable taxes, arrange production and delivery, prevent fraud, provide support, process permitted refunds, and meet legal and accounting obligations.

Consent and choices

Our forms ask for consent at the point of collection. You may withdraw consent for future use, request access to or correction of your information, or ask us to delete it, subject to legal and operational limits, by using our Contact page.

Retention

Dancer applications and their photographs are scheduled for permanent deletion 30 days after submission. Contact inquiries are scheduled for deletion after 90 days. Order and transaction records are retained for the period reasonably required for fulfilment, support, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, and legal purposes. Limited records may be retained longer when reasonably required by law, to resolve a dispute, or to protect legal rights.

Storage, safeguards, and service providers

Application photographs are stored in protected website storage outside the public WordPress Media Library and are available only to authorized administrators. We use administrative access controls, file restrictions, validation, and anti-spam controls appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.

Information may be processed by service providers that help us operate the site and communications, including WordPress, WooCommerce, our web host, payment providers, our third-party production and fulfilment partners for merchandise production and delivery, carriers, and email infrastructure. We share only the information reasonably needed for each service. Some providers may process information outside Ontario or Canada, where it can be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We do not sell personal information.

Age-restricted website

This website is intended only for people who are at least 19 years old. The age gate records only a browser cookie confirming that the visitor selected “I am 19 or older”; it does not verify identity or replace identification requirements at the venue.

Online store

Our store uses WooCommerce to manage the cart and checkout. Merchandise is produced and fulfilled by our third-party production partners, which receive the recipient name, shipping address, ordered items, and related fulfilment information. Payment details are submitted directly to the payment provider shown at checkout; Alley Katz does not receive or store complete card numbers. WooCommerce uses necessary cart and session cookies to remember cart contents and complete checkout.
